Profile
Fowler is considered by many people and engines as being the leader of the 3 4F's.
He was built in 1927 at Derby Works, but not much is known about him in the days of the LMS. By 1948, he was working on the Somerset and Dorset Railway, as many other engines were at some point in BR days. He was the first of the 4Fs to be repainted into BR colours, and many engines say that he was very bad tempered because of this.
He always got into arguments with Francis, but they both shared something in common: they looked down on Felix and 44826 because of their timidness.
By 1963, however, Fowler began to notice that steam was ending, particularly when No. 53805, one of the hardest workers on the line, was withdrawn. He has always had a fear of scrapping and death, and he knew that he would be withdrawn quite soon. To avoid the cutter's torch, he made a plan to escape, but unfortunately, his two brothers found out, and after a while decided to come with him.
Despite hating his brothers, he does always keep an eye on them, and the engines who know him well sometimes say that, despite the cold exterior, he has a heart of gold on the inside, which is of course nonsense.
